Eligibility
Who qualifies for the State Farm dividend?
The current official FAQ gives a straightforward baseline. You do not have to still be insured with State Farm today.
- Qualifying policy in 2025.
A State Farm Mutual private passenger/personal auto policy was in force at some point between January 1 and December 31, 2025. - Calculated payment is at least $10.
State Farm lists $10 as the minimum processing threshold. - Assigned-risk policies do not qualify.
The official FAQ excludes policies provided through a state assigned-risk program. - New Jersey auto customers are excluded from this dividend.
State Farm says New Jersey auto policies are written by separate affiliates rather than State Farm Mutual.
You can still qualify if the eligible State Farm Mutual auto policy was active during 2025. Current coverage is not required.
Amount
How much could your dividend be?
State Farm says each payment is based on a state-specific percentage of the premium paid for each qualifying 2025 policy. The published range is 4% to 10%; State Farm says payments average about $100 per vehicle.
The public State Farm pages we verified do not publish one complete nationwide percentage table. State-specific regulators have published examples—such as 8% in Georgia and 10% for certain Oklahoma policyholders—but you should not infer your state’s rate from another state.

Security
Is the State Farm dividend email real?
Scam concern is reasonable because the payment experience uses a separate dividend domain. State Farm published specific verification details for the 2026 payout.

- Official dividend phone number

- What State Farm says it will not ask for
- A fee to receive the dividend or your personal passwords
State Farm says it will not ask you to pay a fee and will not ask for your email, bank, digital-wallet, or other personal passwords. If a message looks suspicious, navigate to the official domain yourself rather than relying on the message link.
Troubleshooting
If your dividend has not arrived yet
Most current questions are timing or delivery issues, not eligibility questions. The official FAQ covers several common edge cases.
I think I qualify, but I have not received anything.
State Farm says payments are distributed in waves by state and can take several months. Use the official portal, call the dividend center, or contact your agent for potential timing.
My email address on file was old or wrong.
The official FAQ says the dividend email will not be resent to a newly updated address for security reasons. If the original email cannot be used, State Farm says a printed check will ultimately be mailed to the address on the qualifying policy, generally in about 30–60 days. Also check spam/junk folders.
I chose a digital payment but have not received it.
State Farm says electronic delivery generally takes 2–4 weeks after the method is selected. If an electronic option fails, the FAQ says the payment is automatically reissued by mailed check.
I had multiple eligible policies or vehicles.
State Farm says customers with multiple eligible policies receive separate payments and separate communications/logins for each payment.
I no longer have State Farm.
Current coverage is not required. The published rule is based on having a qualifying State Farm Mutual auto policy during 2025.
The check name is wrong or the policyholder died.
The FAQ says checks were made payable to the primary named insured as of the processing date and generally cannot be reissued to a different person. For a deceased qualifying customer, State Farm says a payment can be reissued to the customer’s estate. Call the official dividend center for case-specific handling.
Context
What this dividend means — and what it does not
State Farm Mutual is a mutual insurer. Its policyholders are members rather than outside shareholders. State Farm says stronger-than-expected 2025 auto underwriting performance allowed its board to return value through this one-time dividend.
This is not a stock dividend, not an annual guaranteed payment, and not a future premium credit. State Farm also says the 2026 dividend does not determine future auto rates; rate setting looks forward while the dividend is based on past results.
| Question | Current answer |
|---|---|
| Stock dividend? | No — this is a policyholder dividend from State Farm Mutual. |
| Guaranteed every year? | No. Mutual-insurer dividends are not guaranteed. |
| Policy credit? | No — State Farm says it is a separate payment. |
| Affects future rates? | State Farm says no; future rates are handled separately. |
